A thought occurs!
Some speculate that gaming violence induces real life violence. Since violent games haven't been around for that long any claimed fact is merely theory. The truth is that the people who are criticizing the games we see today are the same people who grew up in some of the bloodiest times in history.
So the guy who shot up people in WW2, Korea, or Vietnam or even stood idly by in college is going to criticize a young person for engaging in pretend violence? Not going to happen.
